Write Like the Wind!

Today is looking really busy. I may not get much time to write, but if I do I want to put it into building word count on books.

But that’s boring, so let’s make it a challenge. My starting goals for the day are:

Minimum: 500 words

Target: 750

Stretch: 2000

I’ll check in in Comments with how it went. If you want to join me in the challenge, reply in comments with your own goal(s) and let’s spur one another on. To victory!

  1. I did not write anything new today, but I finished the second draft of my novel, so my goal is met. I’ll probably be plotting and resting my fingers until Camp NaNoWriMo in April now.

    1. Yay! Congrats on finishing your draft. That’s a big deal.

I feel like I’ve been pushing hard for the last month or two and it’s really good, very much worth it, arguably kind of necessary. But I’m definitely feeling ready for a bit of a break soon.

There are just so many cool projects in the works, and so tantalizingly close to completion, and I’ve started seeing in a small way what putting an actual thing into the world can do in terms of galvanizing and mobilizing a band of wonderful readers, and I’m so impatient to get more of my stuff out in a really tangible way.

But I should probably take a break sometime soon. Sustainability is key.

  2. Evening check-in: I actually managed to add a little over 1,500 words today, and might manage to squeeze in a bit more before bed. Stretch goal isn’t out of the question!
